From there are two fairly short routes onto Sagres, both past the lighthouse at Cabo Sao Vicente and Sagres Fortress. The longer route offers on and off road tracks passing rich holm oak forest, both trails give great views of the Sierra de Monchique as you pass through Vila do Bispo. Then head out across the Vicenente peninsula to Cabo Sao Vicente, from here follow the coast road back to Sagres. Looking for a refuel before the cycle back, there are plently of restaurants/beach bars with local dishes and refreshing drinks or take a dip in the blue sea. Head inland to begin the journey back, along the Ecovia weaving through the coastal villages of Salema, Burgau and on to Luz.
