Hiking

There is more than sun, sea & sand on offer in the Western Algarve. Take in the nature & embark on an adventure!

Trail 1: Luz to Porto de Mos, 4.5km, 1.5 hours.

The clifftop walk is stunning with panoramic views of Luz bay below. The trail to the monument is a lot easier than it looks, once you pass the monument the cliffs reach about 100m above sea level, you continue along clifftop trail and descend in to Ponta da Mos. There is a great little beach bar at the end of the trail in Porto de Mos to refresh yourself before the walk back or there are regular bus services back to Luz.

Trail 2: Luz to Burgau, 4.5km, 1.5 hours

This hike you have the trail mostly to yourself which creates a very calm and relaxing walk to Burgau. You will find a trail marked as you begin your hike once you start this uphill walk you will be treated with spectacular views of the ocean. The toughest part of the trail is a very steep hill halfway between Luz and Burgau but once you are safely on the otherside you once again have stunning views of the ocean and the pictureques village of Burgau.
